We’ve had a recent conversation with a mentor about how many people believe work-life balance is a 50/50 split while let’s be honest in reality things are not as rigid.

Why? Because every day is different and your work-life balance will also look different every day. Short confession but we’ve actually been a little bit drowning in work lately. And you might think how the heck do you keep your work-life balance in check when there’s so much to do?

The one thing that we always rely on are our work-life balance habits. Those little things that you do every day have a massive power to create a special space for yourself to get that energy back even when things get tough.

Our favorite ones are to get at least one hour per day for yourself to do the things that bring us life. A second favorite is an afternoon coffee break because we get a little moment of decompression during the work-day.

Listen, you deserve to prioritize yourself without feeling guilty about it. Your well-being isn’t negotiable - it’s the foundation for everything else in your life. Because when you take care of yourself, you’re actually in a better position to show up for everything and everyone else in your life.

Here are three powerful tips to help you stay committed to your well-being in 2025:

💭 Do a pressure check: When you feel pressured to sacrifice your well-being, pause and ask yourself: “Is this pressure really necessary? What’s the worst that could happen if I prioritize my needs right now?” Often, you’ll find that the pressure is self-imposed or less urgent than it seems.

💭Your well-being is your bank account. Every time you say “yes” when you should say “no,”, you just made an impulse buy when you actually did not have the money. Ask yourself: “Do I have the energy for this?” Let you energy levels guide you.

💭 Focus on your future self. Sometimes it’s easy to lose track of the big picture when you feel so much pressure. Ask yourself: “What would my future self thank me for?” This will shift your perspective to things that truly matter in the long-run.

Recent dump and “How do you manage to do it all?” 👀

We’ve gotten this question so many times, and we noticed that many people think ambition and self-care cannot coexist. Sure, navigating a full-time research job and growing a business takes a lot of time and resources. And sure sometimes we feel like we need to rely on one another to remind ourselves to take a break and focus on self-care.

But the reality is not about choosing ambition or self-care because actually if you want a truly fulfilling life, you need both.

So we totally refuse to choose between going after our dreams or taking care of our wellbeing because we’ve discovered they actually enhance each other. Our ambitious goals become more achievable when we’re operating from a place of wellness and clarity. And our self-care practices become more meaningful when they’re supporting our bigger aspirations.✨

So this is your sign that you can have many ambitious goals and focus on getting those resources through acts of intentional self-care. And that is what we call a fulfilling life. 🫶

We’re often told to just be grateful for the good moments, but sometimes gratefulness can elicit conflicting emotions. On the one hand we genuinely appreciate what others did for us but on the other hand we cannot not forget how their toxic behaviors have impacted our wellbeing.

Think about it: a mentor who supported your career but undermined your confidence, a friend with whom you shared great moments but who ended up judging your choices. The pressure to focus only on gratitude can be really invalidating.
